Welcome to the home of the
University of Portsmouth Roller Hockey Club.
Our club has been going strong
for over 10 years, including 4 consecutive National Championships. Guys
and girls from all over the world have joined the club, bringing a wealth
of experience. Right now, for example, we proudly represent cultural diversities
with a mix of English, Welsh, French and German players!
We train every Monday evening
in Fareham Leisure Centre, as well as playing matches in the GBHIS league
at the roller hockey rink in Bisley.
Regular events also include the ‘Old Boys Game’ at the start of every season, where our graduates
and former players return to play a match against the current team,
as well as the Xmas Xtravaganza & Easter Extravanganza days. All
these events feature skills competitions, lots of mickey-taking, and
a match which we all use as bragging-rights for the months that follow.
The significant factor of this
club that can not be ignored is the social life! We organise regular
‘Club Socials’ which usually involve amazing costumes, lots of drink,
and team bonding, however necessary! From dressing up as Hula Girls,
Action Men, Pimps & Hos, Doctors & Nurses, and 80’s Rock Stars
to team lunches, going to watch local ice hockey matches, Crazy Golf,
and poker nights, our socials are always guaranteed to please all and
develop the camaraderie essential for a competitive sports club.
